We started off at the bar with Mojito Especials - lots of fresh mint and fresh lime give a new twist to this wonderful drink!

Hello all!
Yesterday was a truly spectacular day in the city at the top of a mountain. Ronda is divided into two parts - old Ronda and new Ronda as the city straddles a huge gorge that separates the two sides. This geographical phenomenon provides some breath-taking photos.
And while the pics won't do it justice, we hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we did taking them! We took a bunch so I am sifting through them and posting the best of the best. Will probably take more than one post to get them all in! But here are a few for starters.

Caution: Resorting can be hazardous to your health!
Hi all,
As we were making our way to breakfast this morning Chris missed a step (literally) and rolled his right ankle pretty good. It was dark and the lights weren't on in this section of the plaza area so it was very easy to do.
The bus ride to Seville is 3 hours - one way - and at the time of departure he was experiencing some pain in that foot and ankle so we decided it was best to not attend the tour. We got ice on it and elevated it during breakfast and the walk back to our room it was evident that we had made the right decision.
As I write this there's not much swelling or bruising but walking on it for any extended period of time is a whole lot of no bueno. And there was going to be a large amount of walking in Seville.
Luckily, Puente Romano is GORGEOUS and there are plenty of things to do around here (i.e. sit poolside with a beverage).
The weather is nothing short of beautiful so we'll enjoy from the terrace of our room, the pool and other spots as we can.
Our schedule has been so jam packed that I haven't been able to post many pictures and we have a ton a great ones from Ronda. So stay tuned folks!

Dia dos - Ronda
Hola! Que pasa?
Today was our tour of the Andalucian town of Ronda. The bus trip took us up a windy mountain road. Thank goodness one of the tour guides suggested taking motion sickness meds! It would have been a very ugly ride for me.
Breakfast at Puente Romano is almost overwhelming! So much so that i forgot to take pictures. The fact that there were not one but two types of caviar and champagne should give you a good idea of the range and depth of the spread. I will take a few pictures tomorrow and post them.
The 90 minute bus ride provided some breath taking views of the coast and even through the fog one could see Gibraltar, which is not an island but is actually connected to mainland Spain.
We were greeted with warm sunshine, clear skies and cool mountain breezes. Our walking tour took us to Casa Don Bosco, a Catholic church built on the foundation of a Muslim mosque and the bullfighting ring. Lunch was at a wonderful restaurant that overlooks the lush green valley of Rondo.
We have so many pictures to share - we need a little time to sort through them to post. However, here are a few below.
Tonight is a paella contest and dinner out!

dinner at the Del Mar beach club
Yes my friends and family - yes you are going to hate me for the dinner Chris and i had tonight. It was amazing. They brought out the best in Spanish, French and even some Moroccan dishes.
We started off on the beach the Del Mar club here at Puente Romano Resort. Around 8 p.m. our time we were encouraged to go into dinner and what we found was nothing short of spectacular. Salmon, chicken, pate that would rival that from the finest pat houses in France. there are a multitude of green leaf salads and vegetable salads to please even the pickiest of vegetarians.
And the dessert table was indeed a plethora of elegant and tasty desserts. Some we never got to know the names of but would surely know them if we saw them again.The biggest hit was a lemon parfait type dish with blueberries. And there there was some kind of chocolate decadence in a tall shot glass that too good not to taste. I could not have asked for more but there was excellent white, red and cava to accompany the meal.

Como se va? nosotros muy bien! (at least I think I got that right!)
Anyway, we took off from Atlanta around 9 p.m central and landed in Paris around 11:30 AM their time (Central European Time Zone I think). We are seven hours ahead and it's almost 7 pm here, time for dinner shortly.
We met several of the folks who are on this tour with us, one being Dave Brown (yes, the former meteorologist from Channel 5) and his wife Margaret. They are fantastic folks! I had baby sat for them a time or two when they lived a few streets over from my sister Brenda and her husband at the time Denny. There are other local folks here too so it's been wonderful to meet everyone and here their travel tales.
The flights were smooth and uneventful (which is a good thing IMHO) and made our way to Puente Romano Resort. It's more like a Andolucian village than any resort or hotel that I have visited. We have a suite whose balcony overlooks two of the pools.
We are literally nestled between the mountains and the ocean. Pictures to follow and I hope to get even more when we are out and about tomorrow.
We were greeted in reception with your choice of Mimosas or red sangria. Now my sangria is good but this is even better than mine I think And do it right by adding brandy and triple sec. It was a nice way to introduce us to Marbella hospitality.
And the min-bar in the room carries half bottles of Moet & Chandon champagne! (And no, I didn't ask them stock it for me -LOL!)
I know we will find some good wines during our tours. We have dinner coming up shortly but I will post the pics I took today. They won't do this place justice! More to follow!

Ok ya'll. Here in the international terminal, having a refreshment while contemplating a meal before the flight to Paris!

Hello,
So - bags are practically packed, check in complete and boarding passes obtained! The dogs were so excited about getting to go to the "dog spa" that they practically climbed all over each other to get into Pet Health Center! They looked like the koi fish at the Memphis Botanic Gardens on a feeding frenzy when we pulled into the parking lot. That is a huge relief to know that they will enjoy their vacation just as much as I will!
We will be staying at the Puente Romano Resort. Let's hope the place lives up to the pics!
Our flights will take us from here to Atlanta, then Paris, then Malaga, Spain. Then onto Marbella. We'll be 7 hours ahead of Central Time.
Next stop - Espana!
